Work is crazy, but I felt like I must share this. In response to one of our ideas at work. We received this in an email late last night.

This weekend has been fun. A group of the interns all went out hiking today, and somehow I got dragged along. I figured sense I am in Boulder, I might as well do it once. It wasn't that bad, at one point I think it was enjoyable (maybe do to the lack of oxygen or something). We went to a place called Gem Lake and it was about a 2 mile hike each way. Work has been cool, and I have had the chance to work on some really fun stuff. Everyone here is really down to earth, and helpful. As for the night life how can you beat $6 pitchers of PBR at a basement bar named Sundown Saloon.

I made it in last night around 11 and then went out with my 2 new compagnon de chambre. It was fun, talked to some people, and I am starting to feel like a local vs stranger. I spent most of the day today getting settled in, then road my bike up to some coffee shops.

It is something completely new, and I have no idea what will happen. I am trying to go in thinking positively but who knows. According to Melinda this post raps up the whole trip. Take care, and see everyone soon.

We finally made it. Seattle is really cool, and we decided to go out to a bar were I met a really cool homeless man (maybe) named Cobra I. He likes BOOM BOOM, and rockes it out at the Whiskey bar. Not to much to say, just trying to take it all in.
- many quotes to pick from so I will leave you with this -
"Even the fucking homeless hate that dude"

I am just pissed off about Seattle for a min, but will get over it fast. Today was amazing, but the "cool, hip, rocking, boutique" hotel we are staying at tonight, has the crappiest Internet in the wold (you have to use it in the lobby too). It has taken me like 40 min to get this far. We spent the whole afternoon in Portland before setting off for Seattle and got in around midnight. While in Portland, we chilled at the rose gardens for a while, then ate in the pearl district before doing a little book worming at Powells. Then to top the night off we got a cup of brew from StumpTown Coffee (best coffee outside of Africa). Portland is on my top 5 for sure.

As each day goes by the sights get better and better. It was so pretty today, it was almost unreal. At one point we were driving at night in the middle of a forest, and the shift in color from the top of the trees to the blue night sky was just insane. Then we came around a corner and I saw the largest thing I have ever seen. Some big ass mountain. It was strange because it was pitch black, and you could only make out the shape. Melinda would not let me take a picture of the smells, but I tried. We spent most of the day moving around San Fran today vs driving, so we got a late start - hints San Fran Pics. We are in Oregon now, and will be in Portland around 3 tomorrow, and plan on spending the rest of the afternoon rambling. Then finish up in Seattle. More to come.

At one point, you look up and realize this place is nothing like the desert. California is really pretty. I found this drive to be the most relaxing of the journey so far. I don't really have any hostility towards anything tonight. San Fransisco is cool, but the highways out here are really large, and kinda hectic. I wish I was with out car. We will get to see the Golden Gate Bridge in the morning, and eat in China town before leaving to Portland. Melinda does not feel the same relaxation that I do. She did let me set off my fireworks.

So I though that the end to a perfect road trip would be ending up in Vegas to tair up the night on the strip. No do not fall for this, after the sunset at the Grand Canyon and the crazy road side attractions, nothing can compair. I hate Vegas, and feel like I have been fucked by the Indians this time around. We did get to see some crazy engineering marvel, but Melinda would not let me set off my fireworks in the desert.
