Rocking This Side of the Mississippi Round 1

638 mi (11 hours 13 mins)

Melinda and I left this morning around 2pm and drove from Dallas to Albuquerque New Mexico. The pictures are pretty self explanatory, and I got fucked by t9. I do though have a place to live in Colorado, so I am supper jazzed about that. On a hard wood floor in a basement with 2 other interns.

favorite quote of the day: "First you could have shot gunned that instead of throwing it away. Second, I wanted to smash it after we left texas" - speaking about a left over tecateā„¢.

So I have sent out 83 emails over the last few days, but no one has really responded. I think I have a 8:1 respond ratio. That kinda makes me sad, but what ever. Remember back in the day when you used to dream about lions, and pink ponies running through the river before they were decapitated by Mussolini ? Well I even dreamed about checking/sending/scripting/forwarding/replying last night.

It was bad. So I was waiting for one special magical email, and it did not come. So in a drunk on antidepressants moment I went out side and smoked. Only to realize that this person called instead.

power up.

I am posting my own PR

On Thursday afternoon, our own Alexandra Edwards and Matthew Jacob McFerrin
pitched their creative work for the NRDC at the One Club Education Festival
in NYC. Other schools presenting work that day: VCU Adcenter, UT-Austin's
Texas Creative, Creative Circus, Minneapolis College of Art & Design and the
Univ. of Oregon.

Allie and Matt rocked the house. They were smart, cool and hip. They
presented a campaign full of thought and humanity (Dr. Alvey's word, which I
love). They made the crowd love them, and the work spoke for itself. Heads
were bobbing on the judges' row throughout the 15-minute presentation.

At the Student Awards Party later that night, the winner of the competition
was announced, with City College of New York taking the top prize. Then,
with great flourish and I-want-to-make-that-everyone-hears-this emphasis,
the NRDC's VIP representative (and one of the judges) told the entire crowd:
"And I want everyone to know that this competition was won by a nose. The
team from Dallas, Method Creative, did an outstanding job and showed us
great, great work." (That might be slightly paraphrased, but it's dang close
to verbatim.)

Of course, we are thrilled and so proud of Allie and Matt. Well done, guys.

And now, folks, Method Creative is on the map. Let's go...
